Vestlandet Norway

Branding and Web Design

Solstice seltzer cans

Vestlandet is a western state in Norway showcased in the New York Times5 2 Places to Go 2019. Here visitors can find historic villages, beautiful mountain vistas, and high-end dining. My mission was to create an online identity and presence that would help bring tourism to this hidden gem. Norway is an expensive country to visit and many of the attractions feature alcohol so our target audience would be upper-middle-class to wealthy adults. Norway’s rustic, yet modern charm inspired the visual identity. The research was done to see preexisting websites such as Norway’s official tourism website and Fjord Norway to make sure our site stood out from the rest. The next step was to get the layout right by working on wireframes and Invision prototypes. Once it was ready it was time to start coding the actual website in HTML and CSS. To accompany the site web banner ads, email fliers, and a Facebook page were developed.
